Happy Sweet/Depressing Dog Stories Day, everyone!
So this isn’t so much a singular news story as it is a collection of stories/video floating around that make me think that, apparently, March 10th is “Tell a Bunch of Depressing Dog Stories So Chris Ends up Hugging His Dog Multiple Times” Day.
Geekologie has a story on Hachi, an Akita/Chow mix that was badly burned in a fire. Fortunately, she was rescued, treated, and is now looking for a home. And oh yeah, he kind of looks like the Terminator.

Hachi is apparently the sweetest dog ever despite “unsightly burns” and is based in El Segundo, CA. You can find more info on how to adopt him here (and, if you do adopt him, I will personally do something extremely awesome for you that doesn’t rhyme with “row job”).
Then, the Daily Mail is telling the story of a blind man named Graham Waspe who had a beloved guide dog named Edward. The dog was left blind after developing cataracts. Fortunately, Waspe found a new guide dog, Opal, who now not only leads around Waspe, but also Edward the dog as well.

You can see more photos and more of the story to make you go, “OH MY GOD THIS IS THE SWEETEST THING EVER” here.
Lastly, Reddit user lowtenet posted this video of a Washington area dog trainer using CPR to save a dog named Sugar that collapsed during a training session.
The dog was fine after this video.
So look, if you’re thinking about adopting a dog and have been putting it off, do it. Because even though they’re ungodly expensive or adorable troll dogs (like my puppy, Penny, pictured below), they’re awesome.

And, for real, adopt Hachi. That dog could use a little luck and a good home. We will seriously do something amazing for you.
