Incorrect drive-thru order leads to a food fight
Ordering from a drive-thru can be a frustrating experience, what with the fact that the people taking your order sound like the parents from “Peanuts” with the mental competence of, well, someone you’d expect to be working at a drive-thru. There are better ways to handle that frustration than these four customers, who started a food fight at a Wendy’s.
Police said that four people at a Wendy’s in Kalamazoo, Mich. ordered food from the drive-thru Saturday afternoon. However, when there was a problem with their order, they responded by throwing drinks, burgers, and fries through the window.
Wendy’s employees responded with a degree of dignity and class. By which I mean they threw drinks, ketchup, and fries back at the customers’ vehicle.
Then two of the people in the car went inside the restaurant and began fighting with the employees, throwing both fists and chairs. The two customers were arrested on charges of assault while the employees were punished by having to continue working at Wendy’s.
I can’t say I’ve ever been in a food fight, but I imagine it’s a lot less whimsical than movies and TV would lead me to believe. In entertainment, people have a food fight and then realize that, hey, their problems are insignificant. Meanwhile, in real life, I imagine that if someone threw a cheeseburger that stuck to my face or doused me in ketchup like I was Carrie at the prom, I’d probably handle it with much less grace. And by much less grace, I mean stab the person with a plastic knife and pour Frosty goo into their wounds until they go into diabetic shock. Which is graceful in its own way, I’d like to believe.
