International Women’s Day: Not so good at logos
Chris Spags International Women’s Day is today so you should, uh, be more womanly today? I don’t really know what you do to celebrate. Anyway, one Redditor posted the logo for International Women’s Day wondering if perhaps they selected the right design for their event. I’m thinking probably not.
The good news is that the logo isn’t the official one for the event. The bad news is that, well, this isn’t the official logo for the event.
It is a strong statement for a logo. On the one hand, it’s powerful yet feminine. On the other hand, it looks like a gaping orifice being fisted. Either way, both messages are one I think that chicks can really get behind. I imagine a woman seeing that logo and going, “Yes, I am strong and powerful. But I occasionally get sexual satisfaction from being worked like Kermit the Frog.” And isn’t that empowerment what International Women’s Day is really all about?
