Japan’s “Rapelay” video game tops everything you know of Japan

Chris Spags Founder and Editor

Japan has developed a reputation over the years for being a lawless land that cherishes its tentacle rape porn and scatalogical bride sex as much as it does its Pikachu (and hopefully shall these two twains never meet). That reputation might seem to be a bit overplayed. But then you see something like this, a Japanese video game simulating sexual assault, abortion, and more and, well, if the shoe fits, you might as well forcibly have sex with it.

The game “Rapelay” is pretty old (and hasn’t even been available for over a year) so it’s nice for CNN to get around to its outrage. But at the same time, it’s pretty crazy that games like the ones mentioned in the story above exist. I really just don’t see the appeal in a game based around the tenets of unwanted sexual encounters, accidental impregnation, and animatedly requesting abortions. I play video games to escape from real life, not embrace it.
