Man breaks into woman’s house, pretends to be vampire

Vampires are all the rage right now. That said, most people probably don’t want them breaking into their house clad in boxers like 19-year-old Lyle Bensley did.

Screen Shot 2011 08 16 at 8.34.17 AM 201x214 Man breaks into womans house, pretends to be vampireAccording to police, Bensley broke into the home of a woman in Galveston, Texas early Saturday morning.

While normally that’d be more than enough cause for alarm, the woman was even more horrified when Bensley hissed at her, then growled at her and bit her simultaneously.

Upon being arrested, Bensley told local authorities that he was a vampire.

Bensley’s being held in custody on a $40,000 bond and being checked out by mental health officials.

While Bensley’s actions are certainly indefensible, I’m going to defend them. Sure, breaking into a house and biting people isn’t ideal in human culture. But have you seen True Blood or Twilight? The vampires in those are basically glorified stalkers and rapists but all the women go on about how soulful and brooding they are. Perhaps this Bensley fellow is insane. Or perhaps he’s just playing by a different set of rules like a cool and rebellious vampire might.

Probably the insanity thing though. Last I checked, vampires didn’t rock douchey gauges in their ears with an Affliction t-shirt, no matter how much they like shopping at Hot Topic.
