Man drinks beer after DWI hearing, gets arrested again

No matter how much we as a society think we can help people or even make people feel remorse, there’s really no hope at all for the majority of people. For proof, look at this NY man who allegedly got out of a hearing for a DWI, went into the parking lot, cracked open a beer, peed on the floor, and drove away.

A central New York man who popped open a beer just after a court appearance for drunken driving has been sentenced to prison.

Eugene Havens was arrested last November on multiple drunken driving charges in Herkimer County in the Mohawk Valley. During a county court hearing in January, Havens was told by the judge that he wasn’t permitted to drive a motor vehicle while his case was being resolved.

Havens was released on his own recognizance. Authorities say after leaving the court he walked to a vehicle in the parking lot, pulled out a beer, opened it, urinated on the ground, got behind the wheel and drove off.

Soon after he was stopped by Herkimer police, arrested and returned to court.

This guy just sounds classy. Peeing on the floor AND drinking beer before driving? I hope he didn’t spill anything on his Ralph Lauren suit or the copy of the New Yorker he was undoubtedly carrying.

Well, on the plus side, it was only one beer. Maybe he’s just working it out in his own way. First driving with just a couple beers. Maybe in a week or two he’d be driving with a Mike’s Hard Lemonade or five. Worst case scenario, he’s trashed off Jack Daniels and riding a unicycle in a month.
