Man uses fertiziler on a lawn to propose to girlfriend
I tend to think that the overly “creative” proposals toe the line between cute and utterly ridiculous and stupid. So I’m curious as to what you may think about the proposal of Michigan’s Tommy Dafoe who used a whole lot of manure to ask his lady to marry him.
Several weeks in advance of his proposal, Dafoe spelled out “Will U Marry Me” with fertilizer, inducing the grass to grow a more lush green than the other areas.
When the lawn grass grew enough, Dafoe, using his experience as the owner of a lawn maintenance company, mowed carefully around the letters.
The lady being proposed to, Kristi Volz, was unaware of the message in the grass until Dafoe brought her outside.
“It didn’t even register until he got down on one knee,” Volz told Michigan’s Morning Sun. “Then I realized what was happening. I thought it was perfect.”
She said yes, naturally. It’s kind of sweet that Dafoe would put so much effort into making a memorable and creative proposal. It really lends a lot to my lifelong theory that the strongest relationships are the ones built around a heavy dose of animal feces and mediocre gardening. It’s just like a fairy tale!
Message in the turf: Will you marry me? [The Morning Sun]
