More dead guys hawking DirecTV

There’s still a bit of a hubbub over the usage of Chris Farley in a recent DirecTV ad in which they use an old movie scene to say you should buy their products. So the kind folks at LandlineTV just may have won themselves some DirecTV ad dollars for three creative new commercials with other dead celebs.
I’m all for desecrating the dead so long as it makes an entertaining commercial. What’s the alternative, some guy in glasses folding his arms and going, “You should buy DirecTV” while giving you a knowing look? We should be rewarding creativity and supporting the companies who think outside the box rather than finding it in poor taste. So I’m with you, DirecTV. May you keep using more and more dead people in creative ways until reaching the endgame of a DirecTV-sponsored live concert with Michael Jackson’s corpse being worked like a marionette.
