The slogan for Pokemon has always been “Gotta Catch ‘Em All.” Ignoring grammar, one woman saw this as a higher calling in life, collecting over 12,000 Pokemon items long past their cultural relevancy and is now being named the world’s biggest Pokemon collector. The joy in her quotes about the matter are probably deserving of a spade shovel to the face.
A British woman was celebrating Friday after entering the world record books for the biggest collection of Pokemon memorabilia.
Lisa Courtney, 21, from Hertfordshire near London, has amassed 12,113 different Pokemon items over 13 years.
In a statement released by Guinness, Courtney said, “To be in the new Gamer’s Edition and to hold a world record for something you feel so passionate about is just an indescribable feeling.”
“My family have been incredibly supportive considering the collection takes up the whole house, including my mother’s room! I’ve even named the room where my main collection resides ‘Pokemon Centre Europe!
