Robber thwarted by a victim’s remote control
People spend a lot of money on home security systems. But little did you know, warding off a criminal is as easy as pulling out your remote control.
Leavenworth, Kansas police say that a would-be robber broke into a local grocery store with the intention of leaving with some money.
The robber pointed a gun at the owner and declared that he was robbing the store.
The owner responded by aiming a remote control at the criminal and telling him to leave. The criminal ran immediately.
Police and the owner believe the criminal thought the remote control was a gun.
The 21-year-old suspect was later apprehended and confessed to the crime.
I know there’s no sort of schooling for this sort of thing, but I imagine the first class would be “How to Make Sure the Thing the Storeowner Is Pointing at You Isn’t a Remote Control.” Well, the first class is probably “Shopping for Masks with Holes on the Eyes and Mouth and Bags with Dollar Signs on Them” or “How Not to Slip on a Banana Peel When Sexually Assaulting Someone in Prison.” Maybe the remote control thing is more of a senior level class.
