The “Wall of Death” seems like a safe job

This video is just insane, perhaps not funny. A video captured from an Indian circus shows one of the main attractions is the “Wall of Death.” In short, people ride motorcycles and cars along a wall, do slightly crazy tricks, and try not to die. Fun fun!

There’s all sorts of advanced physics processes at work like centrifugal force working here. I get that. But even knowing that, at what point does riding on the side of a minivan scaling a wall seem like a good idea? And it’s not even entertaining in any way other than hoping the car falls off and they die (spoiler alert: They don’t). That’s just depressingly morbid. Even for India, a country whose impoverished people are about as uplifting as teen runaway porn, that’s a bit much.

Circuses seem kind of like an outdated concept. Here, let’s make this animal or human do something ridiculous that it’s not supposed to do and then you clap. I’d really like to believe we’d advanced enough as a human race that seeing an elephant stand there and take a crap on the floor isn’t enough to get our money, unless you’re really into elephant scat films in which case, hey, the heart knows what it wants.

What'd you think of this?
