I feel like I’ve heard this in some stand-up act but it bears repeating: If the kid is old enough to actually ask for you to breastfeed, you probably shouldn’t be doing it any more. That adage is probably even more applicable when on the cover of a national magazine.

The issue of TIME with the cover story on “Attachment parenting” hits newsstands on Friday.
