Los Angeles is often credited as the first market to emphasize attractiveness and TV friendliness of its reporters over actual broadcast journalism ability. Whether this clip is an accurate representation of the Serene Branson experience or not, I have no clue. But in this video, KCBS reporter Branson incomprehensibly stumbles through a live shot for the Grammys.

There are conflicting reports as to what may have led to such a colossal error. Some UK-based outlets are reporting that Serene Branson had a stroke live on the air and had to be taken to the hospital immediately after her broadcast. Meanwhile, a Twitter account claiming to be Serene Branson (that probably isn’t her since it popped up last night) says the hospital reports are false.

Either way, we hope she’s okay. Because that makes it much funnier.

1:38 Eastern Update: After a little back and forth with a commenter below when I questioned the legitimacy of The Telegraph’s report about Branson being hospitalized, we get confirmation that the Telegraph’s original story (that every other site ran with) about Branson having a stroke was bullshit.

According to a statement released by KCBS:

“Serene Branson was examined by paramedics on scene immediately after her broadcast. Her vital signs were normal. She was not hospitalized. As a precautionary measure, a colleague gave her a ride home and she says that she is feeling fine this morning.”
