VIDEO: News anchor checks her hair, forgets to report news

This clip is from 9 News Adelaide, the same people brought you the “small but impressive” flub a couple months back. In it, anchor Kate Collins is seen fixing her hair and smiling like a doofus while unknowingly live on air.

I’m beginning to think this 9 News just sacrifices their anchors for the sake of a viral hit. It’s a strategy I’m surprised more news stations haven’t employed. Even in the biggest markets, at least in America, there are only 75-250,000 people watching the local newscast at any time. That means that them being a big hit online can double or triple their reach, probably even more. At that point, making an ass of yourself on live TV is practically good advertising.

I’m onto you, 9 News Adelaide. And Kate Collins, your hair looks stupid and I hate it. Hmph.
