VIDEO: The “When Harry Met Sally” sequel you’ve all been waiting for
Personally, I find this and Billy Crystal about as funny as your first prostate exam, but this video is making the rounds today so, perhaps you’ll enjoy it. In it, Billy Crystal makes a sequel to “When Harry Met Sally” sequel with Helen Mirren. Then things get crazy.
I like “Funny or Die” a lot, really. They churn out quality stuff regularly and have leveraged Will Ferrell and Adam McKay’s connections to build a brand that works. But this video is pretty much everything wrong with these high end celebrity videos.
A) Billy Crystal hasn’t been funny since “City Slickers” and, even then, I saw that when I was like six so my barometer for comedy consisted of people getting hit in the groin and Bart Simpson imploring people to avoid cow ownership; and B) There was nothing really funny here. It’s wonderful that we can mock movie studios’ need for big names and vampires/zombies and rehashing old films. The problem is they actually should be, you know, entertaining.
So for just today, Funny or Die is banned from speaking to me. The four minutes I spent watching this could have been far better used in any number of means including but not limited to: Filing my taxes, masturbating to animated GIFs of Scarlett Johansson, reading the crappy emails from publicists we get daily, cleaning my floors, or even allowing a homeless woman to use my restroom for a shower in exchange for allowing me to watch (possibly while I also look at the aforementioned Scarlett Johansson GIFs).
But hey, references to things that happened before! LOL!
