I’ve always believed heavily in the “fool me once, shame on you” mindset. So even though this is obviously not a funny story, some mistakes should really ideally be avoided.

To the credit of this poor girl, she’s obviously showing a lot more courage and forgiveness than any of us are capable of. At the same time, I can’t entirely say she’s without fault here. If someone shot me in the leg once, it’s obviously a horrific crime that I deserve no blame for. But if I go see that same person who shot me a couple years later and go, “Hey bro, no hard feelings. By the way, can you hold my pistol for me for a second? I’ve got to tie my shoes and I think gun holsters are for homosexuals and vagrants,” I can’t really begrudge the guy for emptying another round in my quads. I can’t help it. I have very shootable thighs.
