Woman claims she was fired over being too hot for Citibank

I’ll let you take a guess where we here at Guyism stand on this issue: 33 year-old Debrahlee “Debbie” Lorenzana was let go from her job as a banker at a Citibank branch in Midtown last summer. She then sued parent company Citigroup, claiming that bosses fired her because they thought she was too hot.

That’s Ms. Lorenzana pictured above. You can also see more pictures of her, including some of her, ahem, well-managed assets at the Village Voice.

Citibank cited her work performance as the reason for the firing. But Lorenzana says her bosses told her they couldn’t concentrate due to her foxiness distracting them from their work.

Lorenzana, a single mother of one child, claims she was ordered to stop wearing pencil skirts, heels, fitted business suits, or turtlenecks [EDITOR'S NOTE: Really? She can't wear a turtleneck? She literally couldn't be more covered up wearing that.]

Lorenzana told the Voice that she pointed out female colleagues who wore far more revealing clothing than she did, but was told that “their body shapes were different than [hers], and [she] drew too much attention.”

The Voice’s profile chronicles the rest of the situation, including how she claims she was hired due to her good looks (Lorenzana was told by a new coworker at Citibank that the branch of her bank was known for hiring pretty girls), how she was told to wear looser clothing, and how she was picked on every day by her male managers after she told HR about her problems with the situation.

Lorenzana was fired after being transferred to a different branch, and was told that she wasn’t a fit for the culture of Citibank.

It goes without saying, but we wholeheartedly support Debrahlee, and any other Sexy-Americans in a similar situation, in her lawsuit and hope it turns out for the best. And that this leads to a Playboy shoot. I mean, not for us, but for her…she deserves to be recognized for her beauty, not decried. And if Playboy doesn’t reach out with a lucrative offer, at the Guyism Offices, we have a dirty mattress and several half-drank bottles of water that would be more than an acceptable fallback, I’m sure. First class, all the way…that’s our motto.
