Now here’s a gift guide that I almost didn’t want to put because it makes my writing skills look like crap. Mr. Jian Deleon is an incredibly talented staff writer for Complex Magazine and an all around awesome dude. His wit and intellect are only matched by his impeccable sense of style. Hope you enjoy his picks and definitely give his articles a read when you have a few minutes.
1. Danner Mountain Trail Williamette Boot – $310 
These American-made hikers are pretty much neckbreakers for the heritage set. Even the most dedicated sneakerheads had to pause when they saw these. Throw some orange laces in them and all of a sudden you’re cool with fans of the Mets, Knicks, and Florida Gators. It keeps your bases covered.
2. Patrik Ervell Standard Button Down in Washed Denim – $168 
I feel like this shirt is on some “grown-man streetwear shit.” The fabric is really nice and the fit is spot-on especially if you have that skinny-fat body by blogging like I do. :( It’s the perfect balance between classy and casual, and it looks like any old french blue oxford shirt but the hand is dope as hell and Ervell’s known for his club collar shirts. If you just get one piece from him, it’s definitely gotta be one of his club collar wovens.
3. Raif Cowichan Zip Sweater – $688 
Ever since I left the suit-and-tie world I’ve been getting into weirder things. These sweaters are made from old cowichans that have been cut-up and sewn back together on some “Darren Romanelli gets high with The Dude” tip. My favorite one has a reindeer and fair isle pattern on the front and a white cross on the back that says “JESUS: THE WAY, THE TRUTH, THE LIFE.” I need shit like that around to keep me grounded.
