pint glass [4G] The Intercourse Brewing CompanyWelcome to a new feature here at Guyism called “[4G]“ which means “Guyism Gear, Gadgets, and Goodies.” I could have added a fifth “G” since we’ll also be using this feature to GIVE away cool stuff to our readers every now and then and we’re doing just that today! Basically, 4G will feature items, that in our estimation, all guys should have or at the very least want to have and through various giveaways some of you WILL have.

IBC tshirt white [4G] The Intercourse Brewing CompanyMen like beer (women too!). So anytime I come across a beer I’ve never heard of I am intrigued. I am even more intrigued when the name of the beer is made by something called the Intercourse Brewing Company.

Intercourse Brewing Company was established just over two years ago, and since then, they’ve apparently caused quite a stir (go figure). They were recently featured on Reuters.com, and their Blue Ball Porter was featured in the February 2010 issue of Maxim and was named one of the “25 Best New Beers in America.” Their Mount Joy Lightwas ranked one of the ‘Top Five Summer Beers’ by the Philadelphia City Paper, and both the Paradise Pale Ale and Bareville Pilsner received a “B” from Beer Advocate founders; the Altström Brothers. All the product names (Blue Ball Porter, Mount Joy Light, Paradise Pale Ale, and Bareville Pilsner) are derived from actual towns surrounding Intercourse, PA. So thaaat’s where the name comes from?

Since I am all about helping out the people who both try to get us drunk as well as try to entertain us with sexual innuendo I am going to give away a pint glass, a ballcap, a t-shirt, and some coasters to the person who emails me at scrapATguyism.com with another great city name that should be used to name a beer (and no, Goobertown [AZ] Beer is not going to win). The best city choice will win the prize pack.
