7 classic video game locations you wish you could visit

Video games are places full of fantasy, wonder, and things you can jump on the heads of to brutally murder. So they definitely seem like a fun place to visit. Here are seven classic video game locations we wish we could visit.

7 The Mushroom Kingdom – Mario Series
The Mushroom Kingdom is so huge and varied, that you’d have no problem filling your vacation itinerary in the land of toadstools. Top attractions for snapping pictures include Peach Castle, Boo’s Mansion and the Dry Dry Ruins. Zip around each town in go-karts, or invest in a magic whistle to skip from one world to the next. Oh, and there’s no need to bring a wallet full of spending cash, because there’s a bunch of free coins lying around all over the place.

6 Baccarat – Dragon Quest VIII
Screw Las Vegas – if you’ve got a gambling itch you want to scratch, then the town of Baccarat is the place to be. The casino offers better odds then any real-life casino ever could. Plus, if you lose all your money, you can just reset the casino to refill your tokens. While playing the slots and roulette, you can check out all the cuties in bunny costumes (then head to the stage to really see these bunnies shake their cottontails). Around town, you can take it easy and stroll along the quiet streets. Or, enter some stranger’s house and rifle through their things.

5 Tri-Island Area – Monkey Island
To experience an authentic pirate vacation experience, there’s no better place than the Tri-Island Area found in Monkey Island. Here, you can blow off steam by throwing back a few pints of grog and shouting witty insults at fellow scallywags until your heart’s content. Top attractions worth taking in include the Fantastic Flying Fettucini Brothers Circus, Governor’s Mansion and Stan’s Previously Owned Coffins. You can also take part in world-class spitting contests, pet the massive man-eating snake and hunt for buried treasure.

4 Hollow Bastion – Kingdom Hearts
There are plenty of prime tourist destinations found in the Kingdom Hearts game series. However, Hollow Bastion is perhaps the safest and most expansive world worth visiting. The architecture of the castle and lift stop are definite must-sees for any tourist. Of course, the Rising Falls is a sight that likely puts Niagara Falls to shame. Add in the ability to meet all your favorite Disney and Final Fantasy characters, and this is a destination ten times cooler than Disney World.

3 Hyrule – Zelda Series
No real-world national park could ever compete with the magical kingdom of Hyrule. Of course, you could enjoy a relaxing vacation in Hyrule Castle Town or another quaint village, but it’s the vast forests, lakes, mountains and tundra that make Hyrule the destination of choice for campers and nature lovers. Sure, you’ve got to put up with the occasional ChuChu or Moblin, but it’s worth to hike the beautiful trails of the Lost Woods, take in Yetis at Snowpeak ruins or snag a few fish at the good ol’ fashioned fishing hole.

2 The Citadel – Mass Effect
There would be nothing cooler than using your two-weeks paid vacation to visit a massive space station among the stars. From the striking skyline to the massive Citadel Tower and Presidium, there’s really no city destination more beautiful than The Citadel. If you’ve got the money, there are plenty of upscale restaurants, shops and rec facilities available in the Presidium. Head out to the wards, and there’s no artificial day/night cycles – allowing you to have endless fun in a city that never sleeps.

With perfect yearlong weather, a variety of beach resort activities and a clientele that includes some of the hottest women in video game history, New Zach Island is the paradise destination that all gamers dream of. There’s a casino, water slide, reef-themed hotel and plenty of beachside property. Of course, chances are you won’t care where you are on the island – no matter where you look, there will be scantily clad women bouncing around and having a good time.
