A Review – Richer Poorer Socks
Born from a desire to create a brand that focused on the most basic of men’s accessories (socks), Richer Poorer was created in the Fall 2010 in Laguna Beach, California. With tons of patterns and colors, Richer Poorer has socks for the man from every walk of life.

Richer Poorer launched during the holiday season at the end of 2010 with some heavy hitting retail partners – Steven Alan, Bonobos, Nordstrom, and more. In the few months since then to say they’ve been warmly received I feel would be an understatement. They are now stocked in over 80 retailers around the US and have been garnering attention all around the industry.
I was lucky enough to get some pairs to test run and these socks are the truth. I don’t know about you guys, but I go through my thin dress socks like water. I put holes in them like crazy, mostly because they’re poorly constructed. They’re so thin, the fabric stretches out easier. That wasn’t the case with these. They’re made with a cotton blend that makes them sturdier than your normal lightweight, thin dress sock. Which makes them perfect for the Spring/Summer and even early Fall when it’s still kinda balmy outside.

At $12 a pop, they’re not exactly super cheap but by no means unaffordable. They’re exactly what you’d expect a mid-level lightweight dress sock to be. You grab 2 or 3 pairs for under $40 and you’re good to go. These socks are a great way to spice up your casual t-shirt and jeans or even add a little spunk to your office get-up.
I’ve already washed a couple pairs to see how they hold up and so far, so good. One thing I noticed was that they stay up pretty well. I hate having to hitch up my socks often and these held up (literally). It may be because they’re fairly new, but obviously the true test of the socks will be with many wears. It’ll be interesting to see how these hold up over time because history says thin socks inevitably get holes.
I’ll keep you guys posted, but I have confidence. At the moment, I honestly can’t see much wrong with these. They stay up, they’ve got plenty of options depending on how bold you wanna go, and their versatility matches their durability. I give them two thumbs up.
Head over to Bonobos to grab yourself a pair or 3 for the upcoming warm weather. Before you go, check out some more pictures below.
