Adzookie solving mortgage crisis by turning your house into a hideous billboard
Adzookie is a start-up advertising firm that’s taking an, ahem, new approach to advertising. In exchange for letting them plaster their dookie colors and message all over your house (see: digital mock-up, right), they will pay your mortgage.
Which, um, actually isn’t that horrible a deal. And within a few hours of making the offer public on Tuesday, Adzookie had over 1,000 offers, including one church.
“It really blew my mind,” CEO Romeo Mendoza said. “I knew the economy was tough, but it’s sad to see how many homeowners are really struggling.”
Indeed it is, Romeo. Indeed it is. Not as sad as the thought of driving through a gorgeous countryside and swerving off the road in a brief moment of blindness. Or as sad as the prospect of pulling up to a beautiful 18th tee box, staring handsomely into the sun and then, BAM, getting blinded by those stank-ass colors.
Not that sad. But certainly sad.
Then again, people need money these days. I get that. So, if you’re desperate, go for it. Here’s the deets, per Adzookie’s site (the signup page is here).
We’re looking for houses to paint. In fact, paint is an understatement. We’re looking for homes to turn into billboards. In exchange, we’ll pay your mortgage every month for as long as your house remains painted
Here are a few things we’re looking for. You must own your home. It cannot be rented or leased. We’ll paint the entire outside of the house, minus the roof, the windows and any awnings. Painting will take approximately 3 – 5 days. Your house must remain painted for at least three months and may be extended up to a year. If, for any reason, you decide to cancel after three months or if we cancel the agreement with you, we’ll repaint your house back to the original colors.
If you’re prepared for the bright colors and stares from neighbors just complete the submission form below. We review every submission. If your home meets our criteria, an Adzookie team member will contact you.
Alright, that’s actually not that horrible a deal, I guess. But there’s a pretty good bet that you’ll be in strict violation of some sot of homeowners’ association rule if you try and pull this off.
The real way to win this deal is if you own a house but rent it out. Paint that bad boy up and double up on your income.
