Maestro Dobel

If you’re a fan of golf, there’s probably one particular course you’d love to visit at some point in your life, whether it’s walking the hallowed grounds of Augusta National or standing on the shoulders of the giants who brought the sport into the world by making the pilgrimage to the Old Course at St. Andrews.

I, on the other hand, would love nothing more than to one day get the opportunity to experience the 16th at TPC Scottsdale. I’m not even talking about playing the hole; no, my dream is to eventually be able to spend the day at the Waste Management Open—the PGA Tour’s Happy Gilmore to The Masters’ Shooter McGavin—throwing back some adult beverages as the Arizona sun beats down on the rowdy crowd responsible for welcoming players to the most electric hole the PGA Tour has to offer.

There are plenty of golf purists who frown upon the four-day party traditionally held at that iconic par-3, but as far as I’m concerned, it sums up everything golf should be: a chance to have a good time and maybe throw back some drinks in the process, whether you’re playing a round, roaming the course as a member of the gallery, or spending four hours on your couch on a weekend.

I’ll be doing that last one after The Players Championship kicks off next week, and even if you’re not making the trip to TPC Sawgrass, you can still get a taste of the experience thanks to Maestro Dobel, which recently became the PGA Tour‘s first official tequila. Fans at the tournament will get the chance to try a signature cocktail made with one of their spirits, but if you want to be there in spirit, all you have to do is follow the recipe Maestro Dobel has whipped up for the occasion.
