American Craft Beer Week sets its dates for 2013

Colin Joliat Alcohol & Food Editor

American Craft Beer Week is a major event for beer lovers across the country. We certainly don’t need an excuse to drink flavorful brews, but I’ll gladly take one.

While the event serves as way for the industry to gain exposure to new potential customers, the real winners are the people who already love what these breweries have to offer. In just about every city there will be bars hosting tap takeovers, offering specials, and bringing in limited release beers. If you’re already familiar with what’s out there, you know exactly what’s only going to be around for the week. You won’t see me throwing back Goose Island’s Sofie, even though it’s an awesome beer, when Bourbon County Brand Stout is on tap for one night only.

I know it’s still a long ways off, but it’s never to early to start planning vacation days around your inevitable hangovers.

What'd you think of this?
