BROpener may be the most useful Kickstarter campaign ever

Colin Joliat Alcohol & Food Editor

We’ve featured quite a few stupid or unnecessary ways of opening a beer bottle, but the BROpener Kickstarter campaign is going to render all of them obsolete. It has “Bro” in the title, so it has to be good.

Truth be told, this is one of the better ideas I’ve seen on Kickstarter, even if I do hate tacking “Bro” onto things. I’m 6-2 when it comes to successful funding for projects I’ve backed, and I think this one has the ability to make their goal as well. The idea is simple and useful. That’s about all it takes to cross my threshold of interest. Then it just needs to be something I’d actually want, and I’ll throw money behind it. I can’t think of many things that I use more than a bottle opener, and it will be nice to not have to dig into the drawer to find one. Plus, I like to hit things. Sue me.

Unlike some where the rewards are stickers and personal shoutouts, you’re basically just pre-ordering the product in this case. It’s $14 for the bottle opener (for the first 500 people). Check out the BROpener Kickstarter campaign here.
