Bud Light ‘Lime-A-Rita’ has finally arrived

If you thought the Bud Light Lime-a-rita was just a photoshop from a Friday picture dump, think again. This abomination is real, and it’s coming to a store near you.

Lime a Rita 160x214 Bud Light Lime A Rita has finally arrived

Bud Light

It’s not a beer, and it’s not a cocktail. That leaves the Lime-a-rita somewhere in that mysterious ground of “alcohol beverage.” Much like the Crayola crayon box you had as a kid which contained both “yellow-green” and “green-yelllow,” Bud Light doesn’t quite know what to make of its own color. It does, however, know how to position a product.

Blending the flavor of an authentic margarita with a refreshing splash of Bud Light Lime, Lime-a-Rita is an 8%* ABV margarita-flavored alcohol beverage that meets a growing demand among adult drinkers seeking sweeter alternatives.

I have yet to get my hands on cans, but I can actually see this being alright. I’ve been known to make a few beergaritas in my day. Would I want to run out and buy a 24-pack though? Absolutely not. I’d be willing to bet it’s too sweet to drink in mass quantities and doesn’t taste enough like tequila to satisfy your urge to get wild. What do you think though? Willing to give it a shot or is it just a travesty in a can?

Fun Fact: Bud Light Platinum is currently the best selling beer of 2012. Yeah, wrap your brain around that for a second.

What'd you think of this?
