Bud Light Platinum blind taste test
Colin Joliat After an early release in a couple markets, Bud Light Platinum‘s full roll out is today. I went a little to0 hard this weekend to try it today, but will soon. For a first look though, here are the guys of KegWorks doing a blind taste test.
The fact that they aren’t immediately turned off by it means Platinum has a shot at mass market appeal. Obviously they didn’t have the greatest things to say, but they certainly weren’t opposed to it. If it tastes halfway decent and is competitively priced, this could definitely swiffer the college scene thanks to its 6% ABV. The fact that “really light” was repeatedly mention in the description will be another big edge for Platinum.
I doubt this will find its way into the fridges, let alone hearts, for most craft beer lovers. Thankfully for Anheuser-Busch, they still make up less than 10% of the market. If the average guy can get more alcohol without feeling like they are drinking a Bud Heavy, I’d be willing to bet they’ll at least consider switching. Plus, the bottles are blue, and a lot of guys are idiots when it comes to visual gimmicks.
