Harvard grad creates FDA approved hangover cure
The battle against hangovers has been raging since God invented beer on the 7th day, but one woman claims to have finally gotten the upper hand.
“Blowfish” for Hangovers,” created by Harvard grad Brenna Haysom, is the newest product to come to market promising quick relief for the dreaded morning after. The one thing that sets this apart from other “miracle pills” though is that it’s meant to be taken the next day, not before you drink. I appreciate that they accept that the most brutal of hangovers come from nights you on which you weren’t even planning to get drunk.
You may have seen other products that claim to prevent hangovers. The ones that we’ve seen are unproven “supplements.” We think Blowfish is better because it contains ingredients that are recognized by the FDA as effective. Plus it’s taken in the morning – when most people first realize they have a problem.
The ingredients seem fairly simple and are pretty much the staples of any set of effective home remedies. Two tablets contains 1000mg of aspirin and 120 mg of caffeine. When I took my original survey of readers’ personal hangover cures, aspirin and coffee were both in the the top 3 choices. To take the tablets, you dissolve them in water, which helps the antacid aspect of the drug get to work quickly. This knocks out two of the other popular home remedies, which is Tums (or flat coke for some) and water.

All in all, I have no idea if this works or not. I haven’t sampled it so I can’t conclusively say if it’s worth buying, but next time you wake up with Thor pounding his hammer on your skull, I want you to come back here and post how much you’d be willing to pay to make the pain stop. I’d be willing to bet it’s way more than the $2 it costs per dosage of Blowfish. If you aren’t buyin’ what they’re sellin’ though, check out my guide to curing your hangover.
