VIDEO: Epic Meal Time: Brunch of Booze

The most disappointing thing about moving to Chicago was when I learned that brunch was a necessity for these people, and it’s even more mandatory if you have a local girlfriend. No more sleeping in until 11am on weekends for this guy. The problem is that it’s not as easy as just heading out to Denny’s for a Grand Slam, and it certainly doesn’t involve the buffet that I’ve always associated with the meal. No, here it’s simply breakfast and lunch foods being served at the same time.

Grand Slam 309x183 VIDEO: Epic Meal Time: Brunch of BoozeWhile McDonald’s should take a queue from these places, it’s a useless concept in Chicago. At any respectable joint, there is a sizable line starting at 10:30am. My refusal to wait in line for food means that I always get to the restaurant around 10am. To me, that’s just breakfast. I think it’s high time I just start cooking for myself. I’ve decided to turn to the experts to hook me up with a few recipes…Epic Meal Time.

Now that’s a motherf’in brunch. They didn’t do the total calorie calculator, but I’m guessing it was about the same as the Egg McMuffin meal large-sized. Not only was this educational for the first time chef, we also learned a little French. Thanks to Quebec hating Canada, they call Cinnamon Toast Crunch, “Croque Cannelle.” And who said Wikipedia is the only place you can learn things online?

What'd you think of this?
