What do people like more: beer or church?
Whenever we need to get to the bottom of a serious issue, we turn to twitter. That’s exactly what was used to create a map depicting which Americans talk about god and which are drunkenly babbling..
I’d be willing to bet you could have drawn a rough sketch of the map without putting much thought into it. We all know that the South tends to be more religious than most of the country. They also have stricter alcohol laws in many states. It’s no surprise that people there would tweet about church more than beer.
I was surprised to see my home county of Genesse in the “much more church” category along with Wayne County, which houses Detroit’s lack of houses. I suppose everyone there is too broke to buy booze while church wine is always free.
On the other side of the spectrum, New England is all about the beer. Apparently they’re drunk and want to be sure you know about it. For people who pretend to have a whole lot going on, they sure do sit around and tweet about what they’re drinking more than most. Maybe it’s just Sam Adams spamming the rest of us.
