Hi CB. What outfits do you like to wear when going out clubbing?

I actually don’t go “clubbing” in the traditional sense of the word. I actually hate nightclubs, and what’s there not to hate? You have to wait in line in order to pay to get into a place that is generally either overcrowded or hardly anyone is there. On top of that the music is so loud you can’t converse with anyone, and don’t even get me started on drink prices. The last few times I went “clubbing” on separate occasions I lost money, the back of my phone disappeared, and I ended up sleeping in a hallway. Personal preferences aside, I do go out from time to time and I have found a few things to be my going-out staples. The first is an unstructured blazer. They are great places to store wallets, keys, cellphones, etc. and will keep you looking sharp in case there is a dress code. The next is a collared shirt. As I alluded, many clubs do not allow t-shirts and a collared shirt will ensure you do not get turned away for violating dress code. A shirt with either a button down collar or a nice sturdy collar is best if you plan on going tie-less. Do not wear a crew neck undershirt under your shirt if you plan not wearing a tie, this is just sloppy. Slim dark denim jeans or dark chinos are good trouser options for two reasons. The first reason is that they will hide any spillage should you decide to start with straight shots and then pop bottles. The second is again if there is a dress code both are generally acceptable. It is important that if you go with jeans they are NOT baggy. Baggy jeans will get you bounced from 99% of the clubs that you will want to be at. The final piece is a comfortable pair of shoes. If you want to make sure you can get in, go with loafers or a dress shoe/boot. If you need something that will give you the right footing while you get your groove on, go with subtle dark low top sneakers. Below is a club friendly set that should get you in to just about any club. Just click the picture to check out the set on Svpply. Be safe, my friend!
