Don’t get caught with your shorts down

Gabe Alonso Style Editor

Summer has officially begun today and our minds are more on how we can get out of the office than the work we should be doing in it (Shh! Don’t tell the boss man). Most of you probably hit up the beach (or the shore if you’re from Jersey) on Memorial Day Weekend with the same trunks you wore last year. I bet some of you still even had the salt water stains on them (yeah, I’m looking at you).

Well, hopefully I can help breathe a little life into your boring old swim trunks and get you back on the beach in style. Our friends at Bonobos have an incredible selection of swim trunks for your perusal. The best part? They have trunks for the guys that come in every size. I know I always have an issue with the fact I’m a stocky guy. Some shorts are too tight around the backside, others too tight around the thigh and big in the waist. It’s damn near impossible to find trunks that fit. Not to mention I’m only 5’7″, so board shorts are out of the question for me unless I want to look like a surfing Oompa Loompa. Well, thanks to Bonobos you no longer have to think twice about what works and what doesn’t. They’ve  taken a lot of the thinking out of it with this handy chart (all you have to decide is which one to buy!):

As you can see, each style accentuates or reduces certain unique characteristics to help create the best silhouette on the beach. I had the opportunity to try on the Short Boards you see above, except in the below color.

You can expect a more in-depth review in the next couple days, but just after one quick try-on I can honestly say they’re some of the best fitting trunks I’ve worn. More to come on why. For now, check out Bonobos’ new swim line and have a great first day of summer!
