Dorito Taco Loco coming to Toledo, Ohio
Since my post yesterday morning about the Dorito Taco Loco experiment was so well-received, I felt compelled to pass along the following news: if you’re in the Toldeo, Ohio area, you can try this amalgamation of spicy fast foodness.
Yes, the Dorito Taco Loco, derided by me (which resulted in HEAVY derision of me by readers and folks on Twitter), is coming to a Toledo Taco Bell near you.
At least that’s according to Grub Grabe who has — GASP! — the first known photos of this nacho-powder-covered wildebeest.
They also have a picture of the menu: it appears that the Dorito Taco Laco is going to cost about $1.29 for a normal taco and $1.49 for a taco supreme.
It also appears that there’s a way to tell, as you drive by your local shoddy taco establishment, whether or not the Dorito Taco Laco is available: if you see a giant hand holding a giant chip in the window, it’s like the Krispy Kreme light’s been turned on, and it’s time to get … it … ON.
I’d also like to take this time to point out that my initial reaction about the Dorito Taco Laco may have been a bit hasty. Not that I’m a health nut or anything, but I am kind of a food snob to a degree. And, having been to the land where the truly delicious tacos live (Dallas, Texas in general), I’m hard-pressed to accept that anything Taco Bell offers is going to be delicious.
That being said, I did mention I was intrigued by the Dorito Taco Laco, and I still am — if I can get my hands on one, I’ll try it, and I’ll probably enjoy it. Just not as much as if they had a Cool Ranch version.
