Drone Station lets you spy on the neighborhood from your computer

Parrot AR.Drone 09 309x152 Drone Station lets you spy on the neighborhood from your computerUAVs are wonderful technology. Currently we use them to protect the lives of soldiers and blow things up from great distances, but what about other noble purposes, like divebombing that annoying little brat down the street, or getting a closer look at the sorority house across the street that never closes its blinds?

Thankfully, we now have Drone Station for just that purpose.

Drone Station allows you to control the Parrot.AR drone, a quadricopter with video feeds, using a WiFi connection and an Apple product of the Pad or Phone variety, or even a computer. All it really does is give you real time feeds so you can see what’s happening around your drone, and use a variety of gamepads and joysticks to take full control.

Whether or not you use your power for good is up to you, but we remind you that Superman hasn’t gotten any, and he’s been saving people for eighty years.

Dan Seitz Dan Seitz is a semi-professional nerd (he'll have to code a homebrew game for the NES before he goes pro). He grew up fiddling with video game systems, computers, cameras, and other technology you should never hand to an eight-year-old if you want it back in pristine condition. Currently, he lives in Boston with his girlfriend, her cat, a Shih Tzu, and far too many objects with processors.
