Facebook breakup stalker apps are so damn hot right now

Breakup Notifier — the Facebook application that let you know when someone you had a crush on ended their relationship — got squashed by Facebook after more than 3 million people signed up for it.

Don’t worry creepy nation of Internet stalkers, there’s another option for you available (until Facebook shuts it down anyway): Waiting Room!

And the best news is that this little puppy doesn’t just let you sit and wait for someone to end their relationship — it’s a proactive attack against someone you obsess over who’s currently tied down to a significant other.

That’s right, it encourages someone you’re stalking to break up with whomever they’re dating by alerting them that a friend is interested.

“Anonymously enter a friend’s WaitingRoom and give that special someone a hint that a friend (you!) is interested,” Waiting Room’s site reads.

The only problem is, it doesn’t say which friend is trying to get all up in your bidness, which means that you could dump your girlfriend thinking the hottie who flirted with you at a recent wedding might be waiting and BAM! Fatty all up in your face, kid.

You also can’t “game” the site by switching to being single — it only works if you become single for a significant amount of time. Which can be a problematic move to pull if you have a current relationship, since you’ll likely have to explain exactly why to the person you’re dating why you’re not longer listed as dating that person on Facebook.

Laugh all you want, but that’s a nightmare in today’s age.
