Here is your dream ‘Shrek’ themed wedding

A couple in Wales decided to have a Shrek themed wedding after seeing the film on their first date. I guess it’s lucky they didn’t go see Saw V…

I guess it’s kind of nice when you think about having a themed wedding, but I’ve never understood the fascination some people have for animated films. I can see wanting to have a “fairy tale wedding,”  but this may be taking it too far.

When friends told Welsh couple Tracey and Vivian Williams they resembled characters from the popular animated Shrek movies – you know, those green ogres – the two weren’t insulted. They embraced it.

First of all, how could you not be insulted when people are comparing you to large green ogres? I’m pretty sure that if someone told your fiancé or girlfriend that she looked like Fiona from Shrek while she was shopping for wedding dresses– that shop would end up looking like a set from The Wild Bunch. Just blood and teeth and bodies strewn all over the floor; it would take them weeks to cleanup that crime scene. Women want to be told they look like Cinderella on their wedding day, not like a fat green monster. That’s how wars are started.

But alas, to each their own. I guess weddings may as well be fun since over half of them end in divorce. So live your fairy tale now, because that Donkey is going to end up driving you to divorce court. I don’t mean physically driving you to divorce court, because that’s something that could only happen in the movies. But then again, that’s the same line of reasoning you probably had when you saw the Shrek wedding in theaters…
