Land’s End Canvas recently released some pieces for their fall/winter collection, and it is without a doubt their best offering yet. Since their start about 2 years ago, Land’s End Canvas has focused on offering stylish basics for the modern man at a price that no one can argue with. With the 2011 fall/winter collection, they continue with this theme and expand to include some more refined pieces for the guy that wants to elevate his game from raw denim and oxford button down shirts to club collars and colored chinos. Check out our favorite pieces.
Those of you that follow me on Tumblr know that I kind of went crazy when I found out these were a part of the fall/winter collection. I love colored chinos. They are by far the easiest way to inject some style into your boring everyday outfit. In this iteration of the chino, Canvas decided to up the ante and add details commonly found on pants 3 and 4 times the price of these: namely a tab front and a split waistband. What does that mean? Well the tab front means that going belt-less is actually a stylish choice with these chinos, and the split waistband makes for easy alterations. They come in navy, khaki, and British tan for those that want something a little more tame, and also come in a straight fit.
Ah, yes. Club collars: the cure for the boring button down. Unless you work in a particularly fashionable office or attend FIT or something, chances are slim of any other guy rolling in with a club collar shirt. You can wear it tie or no tie, jeans or chinos, sneakers or dress shoes and look great. Seriously, ANY of those combinations will look smashing. Chambray hit the scene in a big way about 3 years ago and is still having it’s moment as the “go almost anywhere” fabric.
When boat shoes are a staple in your wardrobe, it can be hard to figure out what to do when the temp drops. Rather than trying to wear them with socks, and looking like the entire tool bag in the process, switch to these bad boys. If you want a little edge to your look, loosen the laces and let your pants fall into them a little bit; or leave them out and no one will know you have on boots.
