The holidays are coming, and we all have our own coping mechanisms: football, alcohol, insisting that it’s a total coincidence that work has decided you have to attend the company year-end meeting in Hawaii and oh darn, you can’t get a flight out for two weeks. But leave it to Mossberg, the shotgun manufacturer, to have a kit designed to not just help you survive the holidays, but a zombie apocalypse.
The $360 kit includes a “Survival Kit in a Can”, a multitool, a serrated knife, a resealable plastic bag and, of course, a shotgun. The whole thing comes in a waterproof and airtight plastic tube, with the kit contents in a resealable watertight plastic bag. Before you think this is yet another tool company cashing in on the zombie craze, this is actually designed for outdoorsmen, sailors, and hikers: you know, people who might actually be in a situation where they need to bust out a survival kit in a can and a serrated knife.
The only downside? You’ll have to buy your own shells: the kit doesn’t come with any ammunition. On the other hand, that’s probably a good thing; we probably don’t want too many people getting a shotgun in a can complete with ammo.
