Style spotlight: Filson Original Briefcase
If you’re like me, you carry a lot of odds and ends everyday. The latest issue of New York Magazine/GQ, a book, iTouch, wallet, keys, sunglasses, pocketknife, breath fresheners…The list goes on and on. There’s no way I could carry all this stuff in my pockets. Keeping a slim silhouette is important to me, it makes you look clean and well put together. Which is why I can’t stand the look and feel of bulky, overstuffed pockets. In the winter it’s easier to keep this slim silhouette since your outerwear will likely have plenty of pockets for keys, wallets, etc.. However, once it gets warmer and you start shedding the layers, you’ll need a go-to carrier of man-things to keep all your, uh, man-things.
Enter the Filson Original “OG” Briefcase.
I’ve had my eye on this baby for quite some time and I hope to make the purchase very soon. I have a bunch of friends (like Jeremiah from A Headlong Dive and the gentlemen at FREE/MAN) that swear by it’s quality and versatility. The 100 year old Filson guarantee is practically legendary, boasting nearly indestructible products that are built to last a lifetime. It has multiple compartments for your sunglasses, pens/pencils, calculator, iPod, and cell phone, with room to spare for your laptop as well. Made of 22-oz rugged twill with genuine leather straps, it’s heavy duty enough that it can withstand every day wear and tear for years to come. Slap a “Made in the USA” label on it and it’s pretty much the perfect every day bag for the man with a lot of crap.

(Editor’s Note: I have it on good authority that a 13″ Macbook can fit in this bag. If you’re looking for something bigger, check out the Filson Briefcase Computer Bag.)
