SITE NEWS: And now we introduce you to Guyism’s new Style Editor, Gabe Alonso
A couple weeks ago we announced that we were bring on board the lovely and sensual Will Brinson to head up our gadgets and games coverage as our Tech Editor. Now, we have another exciting announcement: Meet Gabe Alonso, our new Style Editor.
We’ve been searching for someone to help shepherd you, our dear reader, through the daunting world of style for a while now. It’s been a challenge to find someone who fits both our usual hiring criteria of being informed and witty but also a normal dude who isn’t going to talk down to you. So we’re excited that we feel like we’ve found the right man for this job.
Though Gabe’s background features a lot of music coverage, including a stint covering music for MTV’s Music blog, Gabe’s passion for style has taken precedence in the past year.
Gabe runs the popular men’s fashion inspiration board “Pleats Are For Lovers” on Tumblr and is an active member of the burgeoning NYC online fashion media community.
But why is Gabe the man we chose to spearhead this new initiative? We turn it over to Gabe for his comments:
“Over the last year, I’ve immersed myself in the world of Men’s style more than ever. The style blogosphere is a welcoming place and I’ve been lucky enough to make the acquaintance of some very talented bloggers and people.
I’m excited to help groom and usher in the new generation of the gentleman, right here on Guyism.com. Gone are the days of ill-advised and ill-fitting clothing. I want men to dress like they’re worth something again, like everyday is important.”
You may be wondering what our style coverage will do that’s so different from the other options out there. We’re not looking to tell you to wear capri pants or whatever outlandish fashion concept a lot of other men’s properties will teach you. We’re going to bring you informed opinions, breaking news, interesting and entertaining stuff related to the style world and the people in it, and hopefully you’ll find yourself a little better dressed for it.
So please follow along with Gabe in our Lifestyle section this coming Monday February 7th when he kicks off his coverage. You can also follow him on Twitter or check out his Tumblr in the meantime.
