The Upgrade: The jeans you deserve

With The Upgrade, the Guyism Style team help you look good without looking like a victim of fashion.
The story is all too familiar. A guy needs a new pair of jeans, so the girlfriend/wife/”that girl that you don’t bring around your friends but spend a lot of time with” buys you a new pair of jeans. Sometimes they come back with something great, but other times they come back with monstrosities like the ones above: overly distressed, bootcut, designer denim. Don’t get me wrong. She certainly meant well. She knows that <insert her favorite designer> has made many of her favorite pairs of jeans that have lasted her a long time. But just because a designer, and their labels, look good on your girlfriend doesn’t mean they will look good on you. A guy really only needs one pair of jeans: a pair of straight legged, raw selvedge denim jeans. You can live in these jeans. Literally. Wash them sparingly and beat them into the ground.
Levi’s is THE name in denim. You can’t go wrong with a pair of Levi’s and the 505 model is a real man’s jean. It’s not skinny, it doesn’t have a low rise, and the back pockets aren’t bedazzled. With jeans like these you can wear them with a t-shirt or button down, sneakers or dress shoes (as mentioned before), for casual Friday or for a night on the town. The best part about a pair of dark denim jeans like these is that they hide stains well. You know those beat to hell designer jeans that cost an arm and a leg that come pre-stained? Well you can do that yourself with a pair of these. At $98, they are probably more than you have spent on jeans before, but trust us when we say these are the only pair you will need. Do yourself a favor: shop for your own jeans and get a pair worth your money.
