The world’s strongest beer is now 60% alcohol

A beer called “Start the Future” is now available for consumption in the Netherlands, and it’s amazing because a bottle costs $45 a bottle and it’s 120 proof — so get out your beer bongs, prepare to pass out somewhere uncomfortable and enjoy the beer hangover to end all beer hangovers.

Take that yesterday’s story about the rather cheap “world’s most expensive” hot dog! This is how you set the bar! Last week beer maker BrewDog introduced its beer named “The End of the World” as the world’s most alcoholic beer at 55% ABV, but it seems that in just a few days the folks at Dutch brewery “‘t Koelschip” (The Refrigerated Ship) have upped the ante by introducing “Start the Future” beer that registers at a (drunkly) staggering 60% ABV.

Figuring that most American beers are only around 5% alcohol by volume, drinking just a single bottle of this beverage would be like drinking a 12-pack of  Budweiser. So this beer would probably be more aptly named “Black Holed Nightmare Brew,” but the name is inconsequential considering how drunk that this booze could get you. By the second beer you’d already be slurring your words.

This is a pretty good day for all those people that say that they love drinking beer but they can never get drunk of it. I’m guessing you won’t have any issues after drinking one of these beers except when you get home and try to no avail to explain to your wife or girlfriend that you really only had a SINGLE beer while out tonight. My advice is to invest in a home polygraph test and after it comes up that you’re telling the truth yell “TA DAH!” and then promptly pass out on the kitchen table.
