10 sports figures who deserve a star on the walk of fame

With news that Chris Berman was receiving a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, we decided to find other noteworthy candidates in the world of sports who are also deserving of one.
Carl Lewis
Carl Lewis’ performance in track and field arena is unparalleled. But who knew his talents also included the National Anthem. If this isn’t worthy of a star on the walk of fame, well then, what is?

Mike Tyson
There aren’t many entertainers who can capture an audience like Mike Tyson. Whether it’s with his fists, his high-pitched voice or with this rousing rendition of “In the Air tonight”, Iron Mike has Hollywood fame written all over his face.

Jonathon Papelbon
Papelbon is the Omar Sharif of the baseball world. While he excels in his native language, he can easily step away and do some wonderful acting in the foreign domain.

Brian “Boom Goes the Dynamite” Collins
Collins’ talent is certainly not of the lifetime achievement variety. But when you are the creator of the greatest single sports cast of all-time that ultimately changed a generation, than you sir, are star worthy.

Dan Marino
His on-field skill set was unmatched. But where Marino really separated himself was his brilliant work in Isotoner commercials and more notably, his detective like sleuthing in discovering the real Lois Einhorn in Ace Ventura.

Shaq
At this point in his life, Shaq probably does his best work in front of a camera and not on a basketball court. His splendid acting in Kazaam and Blue Chips aside, it was his work in Scary Movie 4 that really caught Hollywood’s eye

Lawrence Taylor
There’s Madonna, there’s Cher, there’s Prince. But is there anyone in the world whose initials bring with it such a strong mystique like L.T? And hey, if the controversial Roman Polanksi can get a star on the Walk of Fame, why not L.T.?

Kareem Abdul-Jabbar
It is one thing to play a prominent role in a movie. It’s quite another to perform stunts with the greatest martial artist of our time. Kareem captivated an audience without uttering a single, solitary word.

Andre the Giant
If Andre isn’t recognized for some of his brilliant entertainment work in the WWE, then how about his Oscar worthy performance in The Princess Bride. To this day, the greatest wrestler turned actor there ever was.

Ron Artest
Ron Artest’s music career may have not lived up to the hype he wanted it to, but his soulful tribute of Michael Jackson is something that uh, will stick in our minds forever.
