For as long as she has been on ESPN, sports fans all around the globe have been completely infatuated with the beautiful and talented sideline reporter Erin Andrews. And in the past year Ms. Andrews has gone from someone that sports bloggers dreamed of meeting and transformed into a bona fide celebrity with her appearances on two juggernaut entertainment shows in “Dancing with the Stars” and “Oprah.”

So what happens when her time on DWTS is over? Does she go back to fulfilling her sideline duties for ESPN or does she use her new-found fame to move on to bigger and better things? With her ESPN contract rumored to be ending this year, here are a few options:

The thing that “Dancing with the Stars” does is turn semi-celebs into household names in only one episode. And the longer she’s able to stay on the show, the more popular she will become. Erin was already beloved by many sports fans before DWTS, so with newfound fame, she could easily use it as a springboard into her own reality show or possibly her own show on ESPN. She’s got a very genuine and likable quality that’s hard to find on TV these days and obviously has a keen insight on the ins and outs professional sports culture, so something like this seems a very fitting for Andrews after she waltzes off the ABC reality program. Either in the reality realm or in something along the lines of a sit-down interview show.

sportscenter anchors 130x120 7 options for Erin Andrews after Dancing with the Stars2 Become a Sportscenter anchor

Why not. Sportscenter has completely changed their format in the past year and there are plenty of ways that ESPN could incorporate Erin into the morning edition of their flagship program. Why not make her an anchor? She’s obviously popular enough and comfortable enough in front of the camera to make the switch from the sidelines to anchor chair. And her newfound popularity may give a boost to the show, who we all know has lost some of it’s audience with the gaining popularity of sports blogs and heavy internet competition. Many would watch Erin Andrews every morning if they had the opportunity to do so and with ESPN holding the cards, this could work out in everyone’s favor.

sports illustrated beyonce 130x120 7 options for Erin Andrews after Dancing with the Stars3 Become a Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Model

Erin Andrews is a stone-cold stunner. Sure, it would be a waste of her talents as a reporter, but it would have to be a lot more fun to stand in front of a camera in a beach in Barbados than to put on eight layers of clothes to report on the Colorado vs. Nebraska football game. Plus, she wouldn’t have to deal with a surly Steve Spurrier or a handsy Bruce Pearl anymore. She’s got the looks and the body of a supermodel, so if she decided to go this route, I don’t think anyone would try and talk her out of it. I’d go out on a limb and say an Andrews cover could possibly vault a swimsuit issue into becoming the best selling Sports Illustrated of all-time

clippers dancers 130x120 7 options for Erin Andrews after Dancing with the Stars4 Become a dancer for the Clippers

The Clippers are atrocious. The ugly step-sister of the Los Angeles sports scene, the Clips need all the help that they can get to put fans in the stands. We all know that Erin can dance after being on Dancing with the Stars and her time as a Florida Gator Dazzler back in her college days, so why not make her head of the Clips Dance Squad? She has all the qualifications for the job and we all know that nobody is going to show up to watch the team win at a rate that’s less than Baron Davis’ field goal percentage. So why not use the Clipper Spirit Dance Team to sell some tickets? Best part about this, Clipper Management probably couldn’t find a way to screw this up. Wait, we’re talking about Donald Sterling…

EntertainmentTonight 130x120 7 options for Erin Andrews after Dancing with the Stars5 Become a host of an entertainment show

Let’s face it, after years on the road, airplanes and traveling all the time probably starts to wear on a person. Erin could probably easily land a job as a co-host gig on a show like Entertainment Tonight or one of the celebrity shows on the E! channel. And with sports quickly gaining momentum as viable fodder for entertainment shows(also thanks to Dancing with the Stars), she could easily become the go-to reporter for interviews with athletes. A lot of athletes already know of her work or and some have already been interviewed by her in some capacity, so they’d feel comfortable talking to her. She could possibly end up becoming the Barbra Walters of the sporting world. This is actually the most logical option on the list in my eyes.

wedding 130x120 7 options for Erin Andrews after Dancing with the Stars6 Move to Utah and become legally married to every sports blogger

To say this is a long shot would be the understatement of the century. Remember those commercials with Larry Bird and Michael Jordan playing H.O.R.S.E. from the Goodyear blimp? Well let’s just say it would be more along the lines of Stevie Wonder and a man with no arms in a space shuttle near Mars shooting at a basket on Earth (one of the basketball hoops at the county fair that are too small for a basketball to even fit through) while Dwight Howard and Josh Smith D-up the paint. This isn’t happening on this planet or in some heavenly alternate universe, but we can all dream, right?

retire 130x120 7 options for Erin Andrews after Dancing with the Stars7 Retire

Doubtful, but Andrews could always take the road less traveled and decide to go out on top and retire in her prime like the immortal Barry Sanders; becoming some mystic figure that we all look back on fondly in our later years and wonder what might have been. It would be a catastrophically bad business decision, as a lot of people on television only have a shelf-life of only a few years, but stranger things have happened. She may have enough money to retire comfortably and could just give us one last wave goodbye (considering some of the terrible things that have happened to her over the past year with the tape and death threats) and step out of the spotlight forever; becoming the first and most popular personality inducted into the Sideline Reporter Hall of Fame.

Let’s hope not. Good luck to Erin in whatever she decides.
