Andrew Luck announces he is entering NFL draft
In a move that comes as absolutely no shock to anyone, Stanford quarterback Andrew Luck has decided to forego his final season and enter the NFL draft. The NFL ‘Suck for Luck’ campaign is about to get more heated.
Luck was speaking to the ESPN about his future plans and said “I think I’m going to hopefully play professional football if a team will have me” and added he was “absolutely” ready to in the NFL.
Despite being projected as the No. 1 pick in the 2011 draft, Luck decided last January to return for his junior season. An architecture major, he cited his desire to get his degree as one reason for staying.
You gotta give Luck a lot of credit here. It’s not often players return to school after being a prohibitive top pick because of education. And then to top it off, he had a Heisman-esque season. Talk about performing under pressure. Perhaps LeBron James should give him a call.
