After injuring his hamstring during Saturday night’s preseason game against the 49ers, running back Arian Foster took to Twitter to assuage the fears of Texans fans–and also, to scold fantasy football lovers out there.
Because, undoubtedly, that was everyone’s concern when they first heard about the tweaked hammy. Truly, a sick, sick society we live in when the well-being of others is trumped by how it affects a fake team we spend countless hours on (*furiously prepares for three drafts this week*).
Here is Foster’s initial tweet Sunday morning.
4 those sincerely concerned, I’m doing ok & plan 2 B back by opening day. 4 those worried abt your fantasy team, u ppl are sick
SportsNation host Colin Cowherd thought he could joke with Foster, forgetting of course, that he’s not well-liked, by…uh, anybody.
Hey Arian Foster—
‘We really do care about you as a human too. Um,now about that hammy?
–signed, everybody
Foster didn’t take too kindly to the joke and responded:
Did you want to be a critic as a child? Or did your dreams die with your humility?
Yes, that’s an incredible zing–especially when you’re limited to 140 characters on Twitter. And while it didn’t necessarily have much to do with what Cowherd said, it still served its purpose of shutting him up (ok, not really).
