Bartolo Colon suspended 50 games by MLB

Bartolo Colon has been suspended by MLB for failing a drug test. Colon is the second player in less than a week to receive a punishment, following Melky Cabrera’s 50-game ban for PEDs. No word on what substance Colon took but rumors are swirling it may have been contained in Ponderosa’s mash potatoes. A restaurant Colon presumably visits on a regular basis.

On a more serious note, this is a big blow to the Oakland A’s who were in the hunt for a Wild Card berth. Colon has been a workhorse this year, throwing more innings than any other pitcher. Now they’ll have to make do without him.
