Beach volleyball interrupts Prime Minister’s meeting about London riots
The London riots, which began last Friday, continue to spiral out of control as government officials cut short their vacations in an attempt to restore order. One of those officials, Prime Minister David Cameron, held a meeting for the government’s emergency response committee at his Downing street residence. But there was a problem. You see, a beach volleyball exhibition is being held right behind the Prime Minister’s house and the loud music and commentating are making it difficult for people to concentrate.
Yea, I’m sure it’s the loud music and not the perverted old Englishmen staring at those Quick Response codes on players butts. Right.
The volume from the speakers, which blasted out music such as London artist Dizzee Rascal’s “Bonkers” between points, and game commentary, had to be reduced again briefly today as Cameron stepped out of his office to address the media at 11 a.m. local time with the latest information about the rioting.
“The prime minister made a speech earlier, so we had to keep our volume down,” announcer Layla Anna-Lee told the crowd as competitors from the Netherlands and Vanuatu played a game. “We can make some noise now.”
In these photos below, you can clearly see how close the residence is to the beach volleyball courts. By the way, please ignore the gratuitous shots of female players behinds. Completely coincidental.
