Bethanie Mattek-Sands wears Lady Gaga outfit, eye black
A. Isaac Bethanie Mattek-Sands is no stranger to wacky outfits. She’s widely regarded as the woman on tour who pushes the limits of fashion (even more so than Venus and Serena Williams). Just a few days ago in fact, at the Wimbledon pre-tournament party, she wore a yellow dress that rivaled a Lady Gaga outfit. Not surprisingly, it was designed by none other than Alex Noble, Gaga’s personal designer.
Alas, the yellow dress was just a precursor to the jacket she planned on wearing for her first round match. She even tweeted that “Wimby has never seen something like this!”.

Unfortunately, the outfit and the eye black were not enough as Mattek-Sands lost in stunning fashion to Japanese qualifier Misaki Doi in three sets. Not a good showing by her and overall, not good for American tennis as she’s the highest ranked U.S. born player after the Williams sisters.
