Every Monday on Guyism, we take a look at some of the worst blunders, coaching moves, and general athlete douchebaggery of the weekend and give you the reader a chance to vote.

Today, we look at Patriots wide receiver Randy Moss and the entire Detroit Lions team

Case 1: Randy Moss

Fantasy owners be damned as Moss pulled in negative points in most leagues. But when the other team accuses you of “giving up”, then you have a problem. This is what Panthers cornerback Chris Gamble had to say

“We knew he was going to shut it down,” Gamble told the Boston Globe after the game. “That’s what we wanted him to do. That’s what we did … He’d just give up a lot. Slow down, he’s not going deep, not trying to run a route. You can tell, his body language.”

Gamble continued: “I know everyone who plays against him, they can sense that. Once you get into him in the beginning of the game, he shuts it down a little bit.”

Moss’ lackluster performance could be attributed to being reprimanded for his tardiness to a Wednesday morning meeting. For the record, Moss finished with one catch for 16 yards, one dropped pass, one lost fumble, and a fourth-quarter false start penalty, and the home crowd also booed him.

Case 2: Detroit Lions

The Lions are no strangers to losing games….and even perhaps the occasional 20-30 point blowout. But a 45 point loss to an average Ravens team? Not acceptable by any means. The Lions continually missed tackles all game and frankly, lacked effort for much of the second half. Their coach Jim Schwartz is now considering benching and cutting some guys because of it. If you’re keeping score at home by the way, that’s not 19 straight road losses for the 2-11 Lions who are staring a top 3 pick in the draft squarely in the face.

What'd you think of this?
